There are several options for people interested in the secondary teacher education
program.

courses necessary for Teacher Certification .

The Department of Education and Human Services secondary teacher education program
develops teachers able to meet the demands of teaching in a variety of school environments,
public and private, urban and suburban. Provisions for professional competencies
and teacher certification include a thorough grounding in the liberal arts, a substantial
concentration in an area of specialization and a study of the foundations, principles
and methods of education.
To earn a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education, you are required to earn a total of 37 credit hours in Education courses. These 37 credit hours include a Senior Seminar and a 12 credit Student Teaching experience. It is important to note that the student teaching experience is:
- Open only to students of the senior year who have completed all the subject matter courses in the field of specialization.
- Performed during regular school hours during the day and therefore can not be achieved in the evenings.
