Economics & Statistics at VSB is a community of thought
leaders with a reputation for competitive, diverse, and
socially-responsible academic programs and cutting-edge
research. Economics & Statistics faculty are frequently invited by the media to share their expertise
and insights on current events. The department is also known for its international faculty
and global curricular focus.
Thought Leadership
VSB faculty publish in journals including the Journal of Monetary Economics, Journal of
Economic Behavior & Organization, European Economic Review, International Economic Review,
and The Review of Economics and Statistics.
World-Class Degree Programs
Economics & Statistics at VSB offers a BBA degree and a BA degree with a major or minor
in economics. The BA degree is offered in collaboration with Villanova’s College of Liberal
Arts & Sciences. Economics & Statistics faculty—through their research and teaching—are
committed to keeping VSB curricula agile, innovative, and relevant. For example, the faculty
are now redesigning the sequence of the undergraduate micro- and macro-economics curriculum
to mirror the standard schedule of release dates for national economic data.

Research Centers
Economics & Statistics faculty work closely with the VSB Center for the Study of Church
Management. In 2004, VSB established this center as the first of its kind in the nation. The
center was created to serve the Catholic Church in the United States through education and
research. It offers educational programs and conducts research in the areas of administration,
professional financial management, and human resource management as they apply to the Catholic

Economics & Statistics faculty also collaborate with the Financial Services, Innovation,
Creativity, and Entrepreneurship (ICE) SIG,
Corporate Social Responsibility, and Analytics Strategic Initiative Groups (SIGs) at VSB.
