Harnessing the Power of Presence

Transform your staff by harnessing the energy of presence as a tool to reconnect to therapeutic patient and collegial interactions. In the midst of admitting patients, drawing labs, hanging blood, and passing meds, staff often get consumed by the tasks they must accomplish. They often dwell on and become discouraged by the things they are not able to get done in their workday. Frequently it is the little things nurses do, small acts of kindness and compassion that make a lasting impact on patients and their families.  Even when time is short, when patients have an "attitude", or when there are cultural differences, the power of presence has been shown to positively affect outcomes.  Learn techniques and skills that you can use to increase staffs' effectiveness in being present with patients, families, and each other.
