The Villanova University Primary Mark has two components: the University crest and the logotype (typeface).
The word “University” has been carefully sized and letter spaced underneath the word “Villanova.” These two components are in a fixed relationship, and should not be altered, modified or repositioned in any way. Additionally, the crest should not appear separately from the words Villanova University, but work as one unit to create the logo.
Villanova University’s 175th anniversary logo was created for the defined period of August 2016 through December 2017 to celebrate the 175th anniversary of the University. The associated marks are intended for an internal limited use by campus constituents and should be used as an accompanying mark to the University’s primary marks on publications, invitations and other communication channels.
The 175th anniversary logo should not replace the University’s primary logo when used on publications and other communication channels.
The only independent use permitted is on ad specialty items such as coffee cups, pens or lapel pins.
The available logo files comprise a version with the church graphic and wordmark ribbon as one unit, in both 2-color and 1-color formats. There is also a 1-color single wordmark ribbon, with no church graphic, as a secondary mark.
At no time can the graphic be used independently from the wordmark ribbon, nor can any elements be changed in color or proportion.
As of December 31, 2017, the 175th anniversary comes to a close and the associated logos will no longer be valid for use on any publications, invitations and other communication channels.
