AI ENGINEERING MINOR

The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Engineering Minor provides students with a strong foundation in artificial intelligence and machine learning (ML), emphasizing the mathematical principles and programming skills necessary to effectively develop various AI models and integrate them into their chosen engineering discipline.

Through a combination of core and elective courses, students can tailor the minor to match their individual interests and career goals.

The minor requires the successful completion of five courses (a minimum of 15 credits), two of which are required, three of which are elective courses.

Required Courses:

  • EGR 2510: Data Analytics & Storytelling
  • EGR 2520: Foundation of AI, Machine Learning

Elective Courses:

9 credits of approved electives, subject to the following conditions:

  • A minimum of two elective courses must be taken within the College of Engineering.
  • Approved electives are listed below. In addition, Senior Design, Undergraduate Research, or Independent Study on a topic relevant to artificial intelligence or machine learning may be substituted for one elective course, with prior written approval from the Director of the Artificial Intelligence Minor program.

  • CHE: 5536: Biochemical Data Analysis
  • CSC 4500: Artificial Intelligence
  • CSC 4505: Applied Machine Learning
  • ECE 5400: Applied Machine Learning
