ENGINEERING ENTREPRENEURSHIP SUMMER INSTITUTE (E2SI)
Think Like an Innovator. Create What’s Next.
The Engineering Entrepreneurship Summer Institute (E2SI) gives students from across Villanova the tools to identify opportunities for innovation, while understanding customer needs, thinking creatively and turning ideas into meaningful solutions.
During this 16-credit summer experience, you’ll learn the principles of innovation and entrepreneurship through hands-on coursework and real-world application. You’ll then take those skills to Ireland for three weeks of immersive learning and collaboration—culminating in a Minor in Engineering Entrepreneurship.
Whether your future is in engineering, business, healthcare, sustainability, the sciences, humanities or something entirely different, E2SI teaches you a way of thinking that you can take anywhere.

Through hands-on learning, you’ll develop innovative solutions in areas such as clean energy, sustainable infrastructure, climate resilience and community development while creating meaningful environmental and societal impact.
Healthcare Innovation
Students will explore healthcare innovation in Galway, Ireland, one of Europe's leading medical technology hubs, by examining real-world opportunities in areas such as medical devices, digital health, diagnostics and patient-centered care. Through exposure to the region's thriving med-tech ecosystem, you'll learn how innovative technologies and systems can improve healthcare access, efficiency and patient outcomes.
Copenhagen Extension
A select number of E2SI students will be invited to continue their experience in Copenhagen for an additional five days of innovation, collaboration and professional engagement. Through project presentations and interactions with industry leaders, students will expand their global network, gain exposure to international perspectives and explore solutions to some of today's most pressing challenges.
