Let's March Nova!

Villanova student-athletes are powerfully connected to a tradition of excellence—both academic and athletic. They strive and triumph as much in the classroom as they do in competition. During the month of March, we celebrate the accomplishments of our men's and women's basketball teams—on the court and off.

...in the Classroom

It was a record-setting semester for Villanova Athletics in Fall 2025 as the grade point average for 585 student-athletes from 24 varsity sports was a new high of 3.546. The GPA of student-athletes has now surpassed 3.3 for 16 consecutive semesters. Villanova Athletics has maintained a department GPA above a 3.0 for 45 consecutive semesters spanning more than two decades.

The record GPA for Fall 2025 was a truly across-the-board effort by the Wildcats varsity athletics programs. Each of 24 teams posted a semester GPA above a 3.2 and 62 percent of the nearly 600 student-athletes in the department recorded a GPA above 3.5 to earn Dean's List accolades.

Nearly 130 Villanova student-athletes achieved a 4.0 GPA in 2025, including Women's Basketball players Denae Carter, Maggie Grant and Brynn McCurry.
