      • Please submit one solo-authored academic or professional writing sample. Co-authored work may be submitted only if your individual contribution is clearly identified.
      • Your writing sample should demonstrate clear writing, organization, analysis or argument, and effective communication for an academic or professional audience. Examples include an academic paper, report, article, memo, or other professional writing.
      • Please also provide a brief description of your writing sample (150 words or fewer) that describes its context or purpose and how it demonstrates your academic and/or professional writing ability.
    • Statement of Goals
      • In a maximum of three pages (double-spaced with 12-point font), please write a coherent essay addressing the following:
        • Your academic interests, professional goals, and reasons for pursuing graduate study in Communication, including experiences that have prepared you for graduate-level work.
        • How you’ve engaged with a community that matters to you and how those experiences have shaped your perspective and may inform your participation in the program.
        • Why you are interested in Villanova’s Communication program, including how its curriculum, faculty, and applied learning opportunities support your goals and how you hope to contribute to the graduate community.
        • Any challenges, interruptions, or other circumstances that provide relevant context for your application.
    • GRE (General) or GMAT Optional
      • Applicants are not required to submit GRE/GMAT scores as part of the application for the master’s degree in Communication. Applicants may submit GRE/GMAT results, if they feel the scores enhance their application. If scores are submitted by an applicant, they will be reviewed as part of the admission review process. Applicants who do not submit scores will not be put at a disadvantage. If an applicant chooses to submit scores, they must follow up any self-reported scores with official test results.
    • $50 non-refundable application fee
  • Deadlines: Admission is conducted on a rolling basis for all deadlines except those tied to funding consideration. Applications may close early under rolling admissions if all available seats are filled prior to the stated deadline.
