UPDATES FROM OUR ALUMNI

Launched on the initiative of alumna Olivia Pfeiffer ’23 CLAS, our Great Books Fund furnishes copies of our “great books” to current Humanities students.We often hear that our alumni have a special place on their bookshelves for the texts they read in our curriculum. This program is intended to make sure that those bookshelves are full, as our students set forth from Villanova to the good life beyond.

All donations to our Great Books Fund go to distributing foundational Humanities texts to current majors and minors. Each donated text has a book plate on its frontispiece designed by our own Paul Camacho, PhD.

And what a joy it is to distribute these generously donated texts! The first batch went to our Class of 2023 seniors, who received copies of A.G. Sertillanges’s The Intellectual Life as a generous gift from Pfeiffer. In spring 2024, Humanities majors and minors received one alumni-donated text for each Humanities class they were taking.  

What a gift, indeed! Thank you to all our generous donors for their support of the intellectual life and its promises.
