ABOUT US

ROTC cadets work in the field.

Villanova cadets have a reputation of high excellence. The majority of Villanova Army ROTC graduates receive one of their top branches and component preferences upon commissioning.

Mission Statement

Villanova Army ROTC’s mission is to develop disciplined, competent, and morally grounded leaders of character who are prepared to commission as 2nd Lieutenants into the United States Army. Rooted in Villanova University’s Augustinian values, the program emphasizes service, integrity, academic excellence, and a commitment to the common good. Through rigorous military training, leadership development, and personal mentorship, the Company prepares cadets to lead with confidence, professionalism, and selfless service in support of the nation.

Curriculum

Weekly: Cadets will be required to attend morning physical training events 2–3 times a week. In addition, they must attend a weekly tactical field training lab and Military Science class. Through these events, cadets will develop physical fitness, leadership skills, small-unit tactics proficiency, and a deeper understanding of Army doctrine and decision-making.

Annually: Throughout the semester, cadets will participate in a Field Training Exercise (FTX), Army ruck marches, Color Guard details, the Army vs. Navy flag football game, and other battalion-sponsored events. These activities are designed to enhance tactical proficiency, build resilience, and foster strong camaraderie and teamwork among fellow students.
