ACCREDITATION AND EDUCATIONAL EFFECTIVENESS
The Graduate Program in Theology offers comprehensive programming in graduate studies. Villanova’s Augustinian heritage is reflected in a “faith engaging culture” approach integrating the mind and heart in service of the church and world. We use a portfolio review system to assess each of our programs in light of their distinct learning goals. Master’s students find placements in ministry, education, and doctoral studies. The PhD in Theology program was launched in Fall 2016. Our Heart of Teaching Program prepares master’s and doctoral students for roles of educational leadership within the academy and beyond.
Our Graduate Program in Theology is accredited by the Commission on Accrediting of The Association of Theological Schools and is approved to offer the following degrees:
- Master of Arts in Ministry and Theology
- Master of Arts in Theology
- Master of Theological Studies
- Doctor of Philosophy.
