JOURNEY Groups
In the midst of busy schedules and endless distractions, JOURNEY Groups invite you to pause and experience a deep sense of calm, connection and belonging.
Together, students explore faith, share life's questions and discover where God is present in their everyday lives. Come as you are and find a community that welcomes honest conversation, meaningful relationships, and spiritual growth.
Get involved in women's group, first-year group, sophomore group, mens group, sophomore, junior and senior group and bible study in the Catholic tradition. Information on each group can be found below.

Whether you're looking to build community, explore faith, dive deeper into Scripture or connect with students who share similar experiences, there's a Journey Group for you. If you are interested in joining a group, you can register or express your interest and we will be in touch. If none of the groups below work for your schedule or if you’re interested in starting an opportunity not yet in existence, please let us know.

Join us for a welcoming community where we walk together in faith, unpack our identity as God’s beloved and navigate college life with grace and balance. This small group offers a supportive space for authentic conversation, encouragement and spiritual growth. All undergraduate women are welcome!

Join us every other Tuesday to live in Augustinian community and grow spiritual friendship together with our Fresh-Main Journey Group! We look forward to creating opportunities to connect, reflect, and contemplate with a supportive group of fellow first year students. All are welcome from all tracks of life to grow spiritually together with an open heart!

Join us at Cabrini for a welcoming community centered on accompanying sophomores as we navigate faith, life and the journey of college together. Through prayer, engaging activities, meaningful conversations, Scripture and fellowship, we’ll explore what it means to grow in our faith, build community and recognize God’s presence through the different seasons of our lives.
Whether you're looking to deepen your faith, find community or simply have a space to connect with others, you are welcome to join us.

Join us as we talk together about the role that faith and prayer hold in our lives. We will use lectio divina, other forms of prayer and a practice called council, which is used in men’s spirituality work across the country.
Through our conversation and listening, we will seek to cultivate a practice of masculinity that expresses deep concern for others and authentic brotherhood. Whether your faith is something you already hold deeply or something you are just beginning to be curious about, we hope you will join us on this journey.

Are you craving community through conversation? Do you wish you had more space to be intentional and reflective? Join this "Walk a Little Slower" group for bi-weekly reflective meditations and small group sharing, in an effort to build and strengthen community among upperclassmen at Villanova!

Each week, we gather to open the Scriptures in our common search for meaning in life. We read the Bible together to search its literal meaning and its spiritual depths through the eyes of Catholic faith. No one needs to arrive with answers, only questions and an open heart. In the spirit of St. Augustine, we search together.
Breaking Open the Sunday Readings:
Thursdays from 6-7 pm with Fr. Art Purcaro, OSA
Fr. Art Purcaro is an Augustinian priest, educator and author who serves as Assistant Vice President for Mission and Ministry and adjunct professor in the department of Theology and Religious Studies at Villanova University. A close collaborator and friend of the former Fr. Robert Prevost, OSA (now Pope Leo XIV). Fr. Art spent years ministering alongside him in the desert and Andes of the Augustinian mission in Chulucanas, Peru. Drawing from this rich missionary experience, he authored Building a Better World: A Contemporary Augustinian Perspective, a work that reflects his commitment to applying timeless Augustinian values to modern global challenges.
Thursdays from 7-8 pm with Dr. Peter Spitaler
Dr. Spitaler teaches courses on theology and pop culture, including music and film. His research covers doubt, suffering, the problem of knowing God, beauty in the Bible and mistranslated words in Scripture.
Journey Through the Gospel of Mark:
Day and time TBA with Dr. Colin McGuigan
Dr. McGuigan is Villanova’s Minister for Catholic Faith Formation. He coordinates the OCIA program, Sundays in St. Rita and the Catholic Bible Study Journey Groups. He holds a PhD in Theology, and his research focuses on wonder.
