PANHELLENIC COUNCIL
The Panhellenic Council (Panhel) is home to 8 women's sororities and is committed to belonging, collaboration, relevance, and respect. Comprised of an executive board and a representative from each sorority, Panhellenic is the governing body all National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) chapters at Villanova. The council is responsible for sponsoring programming, leadership development, planning primary recruitment, facilitating communication, and acting as a liaison between organizations and the University.
“Sorority life has truly transformed my Villanova experience—it helped me come out of my shell, build a new sense of confidence, and find a strong, supportive community on campus. Through both my chapter and the Panhellenic community, I’ve grown into a leader in ways I never imagined, gaining opportunities and skills that continue to shape who I am. The friendships, challenges, and leadership experiences I’ve had through Fraternity & Sorority Life have been some of the most meaningful parts of my college journey.”
HOW TO JOIN
All students must have completed at least one full semester at Villanova or have transferred to Villanova with at least one semester of credits to be eligible for recruitment or intake.
Students hoping to participate in the recruitment process must have at least a 2.7 cumulative GPA. Although this is the minimum GPA required to participate in recruitment, it does not guarantee membership—many chapters maintain their own GPA requirements.
All students must also be in good disciplinary standing with the University to participate in recruitment or intake processes.
PNMs must also complete a bystander intervention training through the Office of Health Promotion before participating in any formal recruitment or intake process.
Each fall, some of our chapters will have the ability to participate in informal recruitment. This process is referred to as Continuous Open Bidding, or COB. Because our organizations are part of the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) we follow their protocols and rules for determining which organizations can participate and how many new members they're permitted to recruit. Both of these numbers change every single fall, so we're unable to list them on our website. For those interested in learning more about the COB process, please complete the FSL Interest form and you will get additional communication as it becomes available!
The Villanova Panhellenic Spring 2027 Recruitment process will take place January 5-10, 2027.
Due to the nature and planning of the formal recruitment process, the Panhellenic recruitment process takes place once a year in the Spring semester. Potential New Members (PNMs) should plan to return to campus on Tuesday, Jan. 5 and are expected to attend our Recruitment Kick-off in-person at 5 p.m. There is a $100 fee to participate in the recruitment process that can be paid at the time of registration.
Registration for the Spring 2027 recruitment process will open at noon on November 1, 2026. Click here to register. NOTE: First-semester, first-year students are ineligible to participate in Spring Recruitment.
Eligible chapters may also participate in an informal recruitment process in the fall semester. Please complete our Interest Form in the Quick Links section of this page to receive the list of chapters eligible to participate.
