Submitting Proposals Before Arriving at VU

 

If you are a new faculty member planning to submit a proposal in the months preceding your VU appointment start date, please contact the Office of Grants and Contracts as soon as possible.  We may be able to submit your proposal from VU under the following circumstances:

  • You have a contract/appointment letter
  • Your Chair and Associate Dean/Dean are aware of your intent to submit and support the application
  • The proposal package conforms to all VU policies

 

Additionally, if you have unfulfilled obligations at your current institution, you must have confirmation that they are aware of and support the submission from VU.

 

Each of the following is required prior to any submission:

  • Routed and fully approved Cayuse SP record
  • Financial Conflict of Interest (FCOI) – if you have not been added to the Villanova Human Resource System, you can complete the paper version of the FCOI.
  • CITI Training – required modules include the Responsible Conduct of Research and Conflicts of Interest.  
  • IP Assignment

 

OG&C’s proposal development support may be limited or unavailable based on the amount of notice received AND the PI/research team’s preparedness.
