On the lower level of St. Mary’s Hall, once an Augustinian seminary constructed in 1964, a long, quiet hallway stretches toward brown double doors. Behind them, the pulse of guitars, the rumble of bass and the crash of drums fill the air. Established in the fall of 2022, the Rock Band Room currently offers six student groups a designated space to collaborate and experiment with their unique sound. With new drums, amps and a vocal speaker added last summer, the room is alive with energy throughout the week, giving student musicians the time and room to create, perform and build memories that will echo long after college.
