Welcome to the Department of Biology at Villanova University! Housed in the Mendel Science Center—named for Gregor Mendel, the Augustinian monk who described the laws of heredity—the Department of Biology offers a broad range of courses and research training at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Faculty members are active in research covering a wide range of topics, and involve students intimately in their research programs. Extensive resources and state-of-the-art facilities enhance experiential learning within and outside the classroom. Weekly seminars cover the gamut of topics in biology.
