Email: nancy.allen | Nancy Allen, Ph.D., is the Director of The Office of Academic Advising in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Dr. Allen brings almost two decades of advising experience to Villanova. Through her role, she works with faculty who advise first- and second-year students in the College. She also teaches "Literary Experience " for the English department. "Liberal Arts and Sciences students at Villanova have the time needed to explore academic majors during the first year while they ask questions about career interests and directions, " Dr. Allen said. "As advisors, we want to assist students in making a choice about an academic major that will prepare them for a lifetime of meaningful work and growth, not just for the first job after completing the degree. " |

Email: lynda.capuzzi | Lynda Capuzzi is the Associate Director of The Office of Academic Advising. Ms. Capuzzi brings 15 years of advising experience at Villanova to the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. She has worked closely with first-year students, helping them to make informed choices regarding minors and the use of advanced placement and pre-matriculation credit. She was also involved in providing professional development programming for undergraduates. Lynda believes that the search for the right vocation starts with a liberal education. Her role in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences enables her to help students explore the many possibilities available to them through such an education. "Our role as advisers is to instill life-long learning in our students, " she said. |

Ms. Tedjeske brings 16 years of experience in higher education to Villanova University. Her background includes teaching Sociology, Psychology, and Career Development. Ms. Tedjeske's background also includes academic advising and leadership studies. "I work with students to form partnerships that help them focus on their individual interests, skills, and values. In many ways, students are their own 'best experts' with regard to what path they ultimately follow. My role is to help students make sense of their options in a way that allows them to find rewarding academic and career paths. Students' experiences here at Villanova should be satisfying and fulfilling, not simply a means to an end." |

Kathleen M. Moore

Email: kathleen.m.moore | Kathleen M. Moore is the Advising Coordinator for The Office of Academic Advising, and Comprehensive Science Program in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Ms. Moore brings an extensive background in administrative office functions with over fifteen years of practical experience to the University. She has served various administrative levels, the most recent and notable serving as the Administrative Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer of the Franklin Research Center (FRC), a technological research and development organization. FRC was originally founded by The Franklin Institute, and performed contract work with many companies but chiefly with the U.S. Government. Through her role she supports the advising staff and faculty in the delivery of advising services to first and second year students in the College. "My goal is to facilitate a satisfactory advising experience for our students with our faculty advisors. " |

Joyce Harden

Email: joyce.harden | Joyce Harden is the Administrative Assistant for The Office of Academic Advising in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Joyce comes to Villanova from GHB Radio Group where she was an Administrative Assistant. Joyce provides academic informational support to faculty, staff and students including providing verbal and written communications, assistance for students in completing and forwarding necessary paperwork (i.e., for transfers, course withdrawal, change of major, dropping and adding courses, etc), appointment scheduling, and meeting coordination. Ms. Harden also conducts special projects including but not limited to creating databases for all Academic Advising data (e.g., advisors information, student information, workshop attendance, etc) for academic use; creating posters, invitations, flyers and special event programs; and advertising Advising Office and Professional Development events via the posting of flyers and banners. My strongest administrative skills lie in the areas of ?Interpersonal communication, thinking outside of the box, gaining knowledge of the resources available for students and staff, and troubleshooting.? She adds ?I use these skills in assisting faculty or students with any questions that may arise". |
