The Gender and Women's Studies program is an interdisciplinary program providing courses and a minor and a concentration in Gender and Women's Studies. It is open to students in all degree programs. Identifying gender as fundamental to the way that men and women understand themselves, Gender and Women's Studies causes us to rethink history and culture.

The academic discipline of Gender and Women's Studies continues to transform scholarship and basic assumptions in all areas of the humanities, social sciences, and the professions.

The 20th Annual Elizabeth Cady Stanton Conference, held on March 19, 2009, culminated in a keynote address by Linda Greenhouse, the Supreme Court reporter for The New York Times and Knight Distinguished Journalist-in-Residence and Joseph Goldstein Senior Fellow at Yale Law School.
