Welcome to Villanova University's Italian Club! If you are a student interested in joining the club, please contact an officer (see list of officers). This site was created to give current and future members a place to check in and see what we are up to! It is updated frequently so please check back soon!

Our Mission

The Italian Club of Villanova University seeks to promote the Italian culture, unite students, and supplement classroom experiences.

Advisor's Message

"The Italian Club of Villanova University is open for membership to all students who have an interest in the Italian language and culture, and wish to share their interest with fellow members. The Club provides cultural and social activities aimed at promoting awareness of the rich heritage of Italy in all fields of human endeavor and its officers are in constant contact with me.

Specifically, I view the Club as an extension of the classroom that aims at supplementing the classroom experience and exposing the entire Villanova community to a variety of socio cultural activities, such as special lectures, field trips, conversation tables, film viewing, and dinner dances."

Officers' Message

"Villanova's Italian Club is a student organization based on the appreciation of Italian culture. The club is open to students of any heritage. Events to promote the club include: entertainment in the form of trips to opera performances in NYC and Philadelphia, food in the form of Italian dinners featuring wonderful music and authentic foods and sports in the form of bocce (our first tournament was held in Fall 2001). We also work closely with the multicultural organizations to help foster community and understanding across the Villanova campus. As officers of the club, we welcome and encourage any suggestions for next year's activities."

Regular Activities and Upcoming Events

  1. Weekly Cafe Break on Thursdays at 4:30 in Connely Holy Grounds
  2. We are planning a movie night before the end of semester. Not sure when.
  3. End of Semester/holiday dinner. Date to be announced.
  4. March 2008 - trip to NYC to celebrate San Giuseppe.
