New Pope Leo XIV Sustainability Medal to Be Presented in Rome This October
Villanova University has established the Pope Leo XIV Sustainability Medal, a new international honor that will recognize individuals whose leadership has advanced sustainability, ecological responsibility, and integral human development. The inaugural medal will be presented by the Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV, during the Villanova International Sustainability Conference in Rome this October.
Villanova Student Documentary, “Seeds We Bury,” Named a Finalist for Student Academy Award
A film produced by a team of Villanova University undergraduates from the Department of Communication’s Social Justice Documentary program has officially been named a finalist in the 53rd Annual Student Academy Awards’ Documentary Category. Their entry, “Seeds We Bury,” is a story of indigeneity told through a tapestry of voices from the Ati and Shinnecock peoples.
Originally made to replace the now-iconic Liberty Bell, its “Sister Bell” rang alongside it at Independence Hall in July 1776. For nearly 200 years, it has been inextricably linked to Villanova University and the Order of St. Augustine.
