Below you will find a list of funding opportunities available to graduate students across the University. Please note that these funding opportunities come in several forms and you should make sure you understand the type of position to which you are applying:

- Graduate Assistant Hourly (GAH) (hourly pay only, no tuition or stipend)
IMPORTANT: The majority of Villanova’s funding opportunities for graduate students come from the departments, and most graduate programs on campus have departmental funding. The positions listed on this page require a separate application process, and are outside of academic departments in various centers, offices, and institutes across campus. Please read the descriptions, deadlines, and application requirements listed here carefully—especially since each one is different.
Please keep in mind that if you are an applicant to a graduate program and have not yet received an admission decision you can proceed in applying to the below positions. However, if you are not admitted to the graduate program of your choice at any point during the application process for the below funding opportunities your application for funding will no longer be considered.
FALL 2026 OPENINGS
- Description: The Career Development Graduate Assistant in the University Career Center is for graduate students interested in supporting Villanova students with their career and professional development needs. This role is geared towards graduate students pursuing a Master’s Degree in Counseling, Human Resources, or Higher Education, though we encourage all applicants with relevant experience and interests to apply. This graduate student position is a paid role consisting of approximately 20 hours per week for the academic year. Successful graduate assistants are those who have strong coaching/interpersonal skills, an ability to work independently and take initiative, an interest in career and professional development, and a passion for helping others. The Graduate Assistant will be involved with all aspects of the office, with a strong emphasis on student appointments. The Graduate Assistant will enhance their competencies in advising and presentation skills, awareness of the career development process, and knowledge of higher education administration, career planning and the recruiting field. Personal counseling or long-term therapy is not a component of this experience. Duties include (training will be provided): Meet with undergraduate students and recent alumni in one-on-one career and professional development-related appointments. Advise and coach students and recent alumni on resume/cover letter building, job search strategies, professional readiness, career decision making, and interview preparation. Assist in training and supporting undergraduate Career Center Ambassadors (CCAs); coordinate the shadowing schedule and onboarding activities, provide feedback to enhance CCA knowledge and confidence, and co-facilitate check-in meetings and training. Conduct skill-building workshops and presentations on topics such as resume writing, interviewing, and LinkedIn. Develop strong working knowledge of Handshake career management system, Career Connections, and other Career Center resources. Curate content for Career Connections website and assist counselors with special projects. Other potential duties: Aid in execution of career fairs, employer events, and additional Career Center programming and events. Assist with on-campus recruiting, operations activities, and marketing campaigns as needed. This is an hourly position and does not offer tuition remission. Personal counseling, supervision hours, or long-term therapy is not a component of this experience.

- Description: The Career Management Graduate Assistant on the Career Management Team is for graduate students interested in supporting Villanova’s current graduate students with their career and professional development needs. This role is geared towards graduate students pursuing a Master’s Degree in Counseling, Human Resources, or Higher Education, though we encourage all applicants with relevant experience and interests to apply. This graduate student position is a paid role for 10 hours per week for the academic year. Successful graduate assistants are those who have strong coaching/interpersonal skills, an ability to work independently and take initiative, an interest in career and professional development, and a passion for helping others.
The Graduate Assistant will be involved with all graduate student support aspects of the Career Management Team, with a strong emphasis on delivering 1:1 graduate student career coaching appointments. The Graduate Assistant will enhance their competencies in advising and presentation skills, awareness of the career management process, and knowledge of higher education administration, career planning, and the recruiting field.
*Personal counseling or long-term therapy is not a component of this experience. This graduate assistantship is not eligible to fulfill internship/practicum requirements for Counseling graduate programs.
Duties include:

- Description: The Office of Education Abroad (OEA) seeks a one-year, hourly (15-20 hours per week) graduate student Study Abroad Consultant – GA beginning in the Fall 2026 through Spring 2027. The successful candidate must have strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills, a commitment to working with undergraduate students and a willingness to learn the OEA’s enrollment management software (Terra Dotta). While all graduate students are invited to apply, OEA is particularly interested in incoming graduate students who have had study abroad experience and can speak to their own personal study abroad journey. This position does not come with a tuition waiver. There is an opportunity for this position to be renewed for the following academic year. The GA will have numerous opportunities to develop their professional skills through program management, advising students, public speaking, social media management, and event planning. The GA works with the OEA’s programs team to monitor student commitment fees and travel documentation for compliance, inform Villanova faculty of critical student travel data, and organize office-wide events throughout the academic year, including the annual study abroad fair. The GA also works with the OEA’s advising team to deliver informational presentations to interested students. The GA should be flexible and prepared to assist the OEA with its changing needs.

- Description: The Graduate Assistant for Fraternity and Sorority Life serves in an academic year appointment working approximately 20 hours per week. This individual is responsible for:
- Organize and coordinate the Values in Action process
- Assist with the advising of the Intercultural Greek, Interfraternity, and Panhellenic Councils
- Assist in the planning and implementation of training programs and leadership retreats, including but not limited to transition meetings, Presidents Roundtable meetings, and retreats
- Work with the Program Specialist for Fraternity and Sorority Life on marketing strategies for the office; including but not limited to the Fraternity and Sorority Newsletter, social media, website, and more
- Assist in the planning and implementation of IGC, IFC, and PHC intake/recruitment efforts
- Assist in coordinating education programs for fraternity and sorority community members on risk management and membership accountability; including but not limited to hazing, prevention, alcohol/substance misuse, gender violence, bystander intervention, academic excellence, and financial management
- Assist with recordkeeping, development of policies and procedures, and communication with the fraternity and sorority community
- Participation in other Fraternity and Sorority Life programs and initiatives

- Compensation: Full Graduate Assistantship (tuition remission plus full stipend in exchange for 20 hours of work per week)

- Description: The CPS Academic Advising Team is accepting applications for a postgraduate, part-time internship. This unique opportunity is geared towards individuals with a strong interest in exploring a career in higher education, specifically in academic advising and student support services. The Academic Advising Intern will be a full member of the Advising Team, supporting a caseload of students and contributing meaningfully to the various projects, events, and initiatives put forth by the Advising Team and the College of Professional Studies. As a result of this program, the Intern will develop an understanding of prominent student development theories and academic advising approaches through both hands-on experience and targeted professional development opportunities. They will cultivate a personal advising philosophy to guide their work across the higher education landscape.
60% STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES
- Serve as an Academic Concierge for all CPS students
- As the bridge from acceptance to enrollment, liaise between new students and advisors, assist with the onboarding of new students
- Routinely check in with specific groups of students throughout the semester, addressing logistical and administrative barriers and refer students to appropriate resources
- Collaborate with Advising and Admissions colleagues in the transfer credit evaluation process
- Regularly monitor and edit content for student-facing advising information and messaging for consistency and accuracy
- Oversee advising email account by responding to emails, sending announcements, and triaging messages as needed
- Assist Advising Team with programming, such as Orientation, Commencement, and various student-focused events
- Maintain tracking documents to ensure accurate data collection
- Engage in benchmarking research to ensure the team’s efforts and services are aligned with institutional goals, higher education trends, and academic advising scholarship
- Develop ethical advising practices in record-keeping, FERPA compliance, navigation of difficult conversations, and administrative processes
- Assist Advising Team in daily tasks and attend meetings when appropriate
25% ACADEMIC ADVISING
- Oversee a caseload of assigned students:
- Meet one-on-one with students via individual advising appointments, establishing rapport and maintaining regular communication, assisting academic program and career exploration, supporting registration, and referring students to a network of campus resources, when appropriate
10% INDUSTRY/COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION
- Collaborate with teams in CPS and across the University to understand the collective nature of advising and student support
- Work with Academic Advising Team and campus partners, when applicable, on development and coordination of courses/events
- Participate in relevant professional development activities and/or associations
- Represent the Advising Team and CPS at various campus events sponsored by CPS and/or the University
5% ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Description: The Office of the Registrar is seeking a graduate student for the role of Communication Coordinator on our Communications Team to support the office with a variety of projects and responsibilities including creating content for community newsletters, preparing mass email reminders for students and faculty, updating the office webpages, preparing presentation slides, creating materials to promote special events, maintaining the office communication calendar and preparing an office communication plan.
Applicants should have excellent time-management skills, strong writing and listening skills and the ability to manage a variety of moving parts of a project. Canva knowledge or similar software a must.
Candidate should have completed an undergraduate degree and currently seeking a Villanova graduate program in a writing intensive area, and/or in communications, public administration, higher education or marketing.

Description: The Villanova Institute for Research and Scholarship is seeking a detail-oriented, data-literate graduate student to support the Director on two major projects:
- Development of a department report on Villanova’s internal faculty research funding programs focused on historical trends and institutional impact. The Graduate Assistant will compile, organize, clean, analyze, and summarize data for the report.
- Implementation of a University-wide system for coordinating information about external research funding opportunities. The Graduate Assistant will identify, analyze, track, and create online postings for specified types of funding opportunities.
- This is a hybrid role with scheduling flexibility. In-person work is expected at least one day/per week.
The position offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in data management and analysis, institutional research, and collaborative authorship. It offers practical exposure to the professions of research development, research administration, and higher education administration.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Compile, organize, clean, and help analyze historical data on Villanova’s internal faculty research funding programs
- Create data tables, summaries, and reporting materials
- Document grant-related data capture and reporting processes to improve efficiency of annual data reporting
- Review, interpret, and track basic requirements for specified external funding opportunities and document processes to establish standard workflow
- Create and monitor funding opportunity postings and application forms in grant competition software (InfoReady)
