The 2026 Jeffrey S. Moorad Sports Law Journal Symposium, 03/27

Lawyers Behind the Game: How Team General Counsel Shape the Future of Sports

Friday, March 27
9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.

Arthur M. Goldberg ’66 Commons
John F. Scarpa Hall

This year’s symposium will feature general counsel from Philadelphia’s professional sports organizations, including the 76ers, Eagles, Flyers, Phillies and Union, as well as the New Jersey Devils, who will discuss their multifaceted roles as chief legal strategists, risk managers and business advisors. The conversation will also examine the economic and legal impact of major sporting events—such as the MLB All-Star Game and the FIFA World Cup—on host cities, including stadium financing, public subsidies and long-term community development.

Andrew Brandt, professor of practice and executive director of the Jeffrey S. Moorad Center for the Study of Sports Law, will sit down for a conversation with Grant House, the named plaintiff of the House v. NCAA settlement. A year after the settlement, experts will explore the ever-evolving landscape of college athletics and how these changes are reshaping recruiting, compliance and athlete representation.

This symposium is approved for 3 Substantive in-person CLE credits from the Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education Board. Please note the event is open for general admission, but registration is required for CLE credit.
