GRADUATE CERTIFICATES

Graduate student discussion in seminar class

Graduate certificates offer a way to prepare for a career in education without enrolling in a full master's program.

Credits earned in the graduate Certificate in Teacher Leadership or Higher Education Leadership programs may also be applied toward the master's degree.

The Certificate in College Admissions Counseling is geared toward acting professionals in counseling.

These programs do not lead to PA State Certification. The Master's Plus Certification is the only program that leads to PA teacher certification.

CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS

With the completion of 15 credits, students can earn a Certificate in Education, which can be used to strengthen their skills as educators, hone competencies for careers in education, or set them on a path towards earning principal certification.

This 15-credit program will:

  • Hone instructional practice.
  • Strengthen leadership skills to support colleagues’ learning.
  • Develop proficiency with data analysis and policy advocacy.

This certificate is designed for experienced educators who are interested in assuming greater responsibility for improving student engagement and learning while continuing to serve as classroom teachers.

These credits may also be applied toward the master's degree.

The Certificate in Higher Education Leadership prepares students for careers in college and university settings. In this 15-credit certificate, students will:

  • Develop knowledge, skills, and attitudes of reflective leadership.
  • Leverage higher education student services and resources to effectively support students through student care, holistic development, and academic success.
  • Convey the historical and contemporary influences impacting higher education today.

These credits may also be applied toward the master's degree. Courses are offered year-round with unique skills-focused 1-credit workshop courses delivered by established higher education practitioner-scholars.
