College of Professional Studies at Villanova University and AJ Brown Foundation Provide On Campus Learning Experience to High School Students

Villanova University’s College of Professional Studies recently partnered with the AJ Brown Foundation, a nonprofit organization founded by star NFL player AJ Brown, to welcome a group of students to Villanova’s campus for a two-day, intensive learning experience in digital marketing, social media management and career development.

The AJ Brown Foundation was established by Brown, a stand-out wide receiver and Super Bowl champion, with a stated goal to foster literacy and educational opportunities to young people, no matter their background. This two-day program brought a group of high school boys to Villanova, providing on campus interaction and college level learning.

“First and foremost, the mission of the AJ Brown Foundation is to serve and support underserved youth with educational resources and access to create a pathway to more education,” said Karrie Crocker, the Program Manager of the AJ Brown Foundation. “Aligning Villanova University, a prestigious university, and the AJ Brown Foundation, makes for a beautiful collaboration to really show these young men what else is out there.”

Brown spoke to the students, emphasizing the impact and importance of education. Participants also toured Villanova’s athletics facilities and learned more about the student-athlete experience in modern college sports.

The partnership came as part of the College of Professional Studies’ on-going efforts to provide the holistic Augustinian learning experience available at Villanova University to a wider and more diverse audience, through a variety of nontraditional channels and opportunities. The College of Professional Studies is home to bachelor’s degree programs, both on campus and online, as well as a deep portfolio of non-credit professional education programs and a collection of offerings for high school students, senior citizens and others.
