10-DAY WRITING CHALLENGE

The Writing Challenge is designed to help faculty and postdocs sustain consistent writing habits during the semester, when competing demands make it especially difficult to find time for scholarship. The goal of the Challenge is to write for at least 30 minutes a day over 10 consecutive weekdays. For flexibility, the program is virtual and asynchronous. Participation is open to all Villanova faculty and postdocs.

How It Works

The Writing Challenge promotes writing consistency through gamification. The “challenge” is to write 30 minutes a day for 10 consecutive weekdays; more than 30 minutes is welcome but not expected. Participants are free to work on any project or set of projects that will help them meet their writing objectives.

Participants earn credit by “clocking in” daily to our private, browser-based platform, where you can easily record the duration of each writing session. There is also leaderboard to track your and other participants' streaks and messaging function to send kudos to colleagues. Please sign-up for the challenge to be given the access code and further instructions.
