Villanova University is committed to providing faculty with the resources needed to develop their research. A critical aspect of securing funding to support your scholarly work is finding appropriate funding sources. These can range from internal grants to federal sources, private foundations or cultivating corporate relationships.

These internal funding programs are administered by Falvey Library.
The Subvention of Publication Program is intended to support faculty in the publication of books and/or monographs that are of significant scholarly value, whether the prospective audience may be broad or somewhat limited. The program is especially interested in supporting works of the highest academic quality, which have been accepted at university or other outstanding presses that are highly selective in what they publish.
The Scholarship Open Access Reserve (SOAR) Fund stems from Falvey Library's commitment to supporting open access publishing. This program is designed to provide financial support to members of the Villanova community who are interested in publishing high quality open access publications.

Villanova University has engaged Thorn Run Partners (TRP), a leading higher education consulting firm, to provide grant writing assistance to select, high-potential research projects. Those interested in consideration for such support should email Amanda Grannas, Vice Provost for Research and Chief Research Officer.
The Office of Grants and Contracts works with investigators during the submission of sponsored project proposals on behalf of the University. The Office negotiates and executes various types of research agreements, provides sponsored projects education and communication, and assists with the proper stewardship of research funds awarded to the University.
Led by experienced academics in partnership with research support professionals across the University, the Office of Research Development and Scholarly Support offers a range of services to help scholars develop competitive funding proposals.
Aaren Pastor, PhD, the Office of Research Development and Scholarly Support’s in-house developmental editor, provides individualized grant writing support to all research projects seeking federal funding. Dr. Pastor provides iterative feedback to help make grant proposals more coherent, concise and clear. Those interested should email to set up a consultation.
CONSORTIUM MEMBERSHIPS
Villanova has consortium partnerships and opportunities with the following institutes:
As an associate ORAU member, Villanova students and faculty will have exclusive access to scholarships, research grants, travel grants, science and technology events, high-performance computing and collaborative opportunities. Faculty and staff will have opportunities to work with national laboratories, federal agencies, educational and governmental entities, as well as participate in knowledge-strengthening competitions, and interactions with scientific leaders that will enhance faculty and students’ professional growth.
In 2017, Villanova became a member of Life Sciences PA. Faculty and students can participate in scientific poster sessions connecting them to the PA life science industry, and other Life Science PA events.
In 2018, Villanova joined as a consortium member of the McNeil Center of Early American Studies. Since joining, several students have participated in Undergraduate Research Workshops, and faculty members have received summer faculty fellowships through the McNeil Center.
