Villanova License Plate Program
Show your Wildcat pride wherever the road takes you. Our Villanova University Alumni Association license plate, available to Pennsylvania drivers, is more than a design—it’s a symbol of lifelong connection, school spirit and the community that stays with you long after graduation.

- Complete and sign the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's Application for Special Organization Registration Plate (MV-904SP). Download form here.
- Include a check or money order for the appropriate fee based on your selected plate option (see below).
- Mail your PennDOT application and payment to:

What happens next?
The rest of the process will be handled by Villanova. Your application will be reviewed by the Alumni Association, then submitted to University offices and PennDOT for final processing.
Standard Plate — $100
- Plate number is assigned by PennDOT
- Complete Sections A and E (on PennDOT application)
Personalized Plate — $250
- Choose your own plate number
- Complete Sections A, D, and E (on PennDOT application)
- Enter your requested configuration in Section D (on PennDOT application)
Payment:
The payment you submit to Villanova along with your application covers all costs associated with your Villanova license plate. We currently only accept payment by check or money order, please make all payments payable to Villanova University and mail in with your application.
What the Fee Covers
- PennDOT license plate fee
- Alumni Association processing fee
Timeline:
Total estimated turnaround: 60–120 days, which includes University processing time.
Note: Standard plates take ~4–6 weeks (after PennDOT receives application)
Personalized plates take ~8–10 weeks (after PennDOT receives application)
Delivery: Your plate will be mailed directly to you by PennDOT.

Here is how to handle a variety of scenarios pertaining to plate replacements…
For Villanova University Alumni Association “Standard Plate” replacement:
- If the plate is peeling and you are okay with a new license plate number assigned by PennDOT, complete PennDOT’s Application for Replacement of Illegible Registration Plate (MV-46) and submit with no fees.
- If the plate is peeling and you want to keep the same license plate number, complete the MV-46 and submit with a $136 check for a personalization fee.
- If the plate is fine and you just want the Liberty Bell style, complete the PennDOT’s Application for Replacement of Registration Plate (MV-44) and submit with a $14 check. You will receive a new license plate number.
- If the plate is fine and you want the Liberty Bell style with your same license plate number, complete the MV-44 and submit with a $136 check for a personalization fee.
For Villanova University Alumni Association “Personalized Plate” replacement:
- If the plate is peeling and you already have a personalized plate, complete the MV-46 and submit with no fees.
- If the plate is fine and you just want your already personalized plate to be a Liberty Bell, complete the MV-44 and submit with no fees.
Note: There is legislation saying PennDOT cannot charge for someone who already paid to personalize.
What form should I use?
- Application for Replacement of Illegible Registration Plate (MV-46) – Use when replacing a plate due to peeling, damage, or illegibility.
- Application for Replacement of Registration Plate (MV-44) – Use when requesting a change to the Liberty Bell plate design and your current plate is not damaged.
