Engineering Faculty Member Honored at 2026 Commencement

At Villanova University’s 2026 Undergraduate Commencement ceremony, Kelly Good, PhD, PE, ’09 CE, assistant professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering, was presented with the Junior Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching.

“This is such a special recognition, especially as we celebrate our graduating students, because they are the reason we do what we do as teachers,” Dr. Good said.

The Junior Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching is presented to a faculty member who has been in a full-time position for less than seven years and has developed extraordinarily effective teaching approaches. The University President solicits nominations for this award annually. The Awards Committee of the Faculty Congress evaluates these nominations.

Dr. Good has made a tremendous impact on the College, her colleagues and students since joining the faculty in 2022. She was also recently named to the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists’ 40 Under 40 List, capping off an incredible year of achievements and recognition.

“I am a Villanova alumna, so I knew what it felt like to be a student in the classroom of a great teacher since there are so many great ones here,” Dr. Good said.
