- 06/25/2026 100 Years After 'Launch' of Aerospace Industry, Villanova Engineering Faculty Continue to Innovate the Sector A century after Robert H. Goddard launched the world’s first liquid-fueled rocket in Auburn, Mass., the aerospace industry is booming, with new technology and missions making headlines every day. Researchers continue to innovate the field and develop new technologies designed to help expand our knowledge of the vast universe. That innovation comes from diverse and unique places, including Villanova University.
- 06/16/2026 Engineering Student, Two Alumni Receive Fulbright US Student Grants for 2026-27 Emily Curran ’26 CpE and Dally Perez Lantigua '25 CE will head to Finland to pursue master's degrees at the Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology. Meanwhile, Fabiano Moscoso '25 EE will serve as an English Teaching Assistant in South Korea, where he will teach STEM-integrated English lessons and support cultural exchange programming.

- 06/01/2026 ME Graduate Named Vice President/Secretary of Villanova Alumni Board Emily Smith Beining ’12 ME is a mechanical engineering professional with over 14 years of experience in construction project management. She joins President Brian Westbrook '01 VSB in a leadership role on the Villanova University Alumni Association (VUAA) Board of Directors.
- 05/06/2026 National Science Foundation Awards CAREER Grant to Villanova Engineering Professor The National Science Foundation (NSF) has named Tommaso Cappello, PhD, assistant professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and director of the High-Performance RF Lab at Villanova University’s College of Engineering (COE), as a recipient of the Early Career Development (CAREER) Award.

- 03/06/2026 A Century and a Half of Connectivity: Professor Mojtaba Vaezi Reflects on the Evolution and Future of Communication Technology On March 10, 1876, Alexander Graham Bell spoke the first words ever transmitted over telephone: “Mr. Watson, come here; I want you.” For Mojtaba Vaezi, PhD, associate professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and director of the Wireless Networking Laboratory, Bell’s few words spoken over telephone marked the beginning of an ongoing technological revolution.
- 02/19/2026 Villanova Engineering and Foxwynd Foundation Partner on WASH Initiatives in Kenya Villanova University’s Center for Humanitarian Engineering and International Development (C4HE) received a three-year, $225,000 grant from the Foxwynd Foundation to accelerate the implementation of water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) initiatives in Kenya’s Siaya region.
- 01/21/2026 Villanova Engineering Launches Master of Science in Sports and Performance Engineering One of the first degrees of its kind of the country, the forward-looking MSSPE program is designed to address challenges in human performance through innovative, human-centered engineering.
- 01/07/2026 Eric Musselman Named Associate Dean for Undergraduate Affairs Dr. Musselman transitions to the role after serving as chair of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering since 2020. He succeeds David Jamison, PhD, who has assumed the newly created role of inaugural director of the Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering program.
