Terrence Low
Co-Founder and CEO, Michael Lavelle Wines
Terrence Low is an entrepreneur, strategic thinker and cultural innovator with a decade of experience on intrapreneurial teams at Fortune 500 companies like IBM and LinkedIn. His expertise in brand building, identifying and molding emerging market trends has led him to a significant role at Michael Lavelle Wines. In his role as CEO, he ensures that every aspect of Michael Lavelle Wines' vision is executed to the highest standard, blending strategy, creativity and operational excellence. Under his leadership, the company has grown from one market in 2020 to over 15 in 2023, leveraging partnerships with The Alinea Group, Whole Foods, Soho House, Marriott, Cameron Mitchell Restaurants and more.
Michael Lavelle Wines is an award-winning premium wine company, co-founded by Low alongside Aaron "Michael" Coad and partners, sommelier Devin M. Kennedy and Brandon L. Crump. Launched in June 2020, it is the youngest Black-owned wine company. The founders recognized an untapped market: fresh, culturally relevant wine experiences for millennials and minority audiences. Their approach combines art, education and unique wine experiences, as evidenced through “The Iris Collection.”
Hailing from Chicago's Southside, Low's journey is marked by a BA in Economics from Howard University and a persistent curiosity for connecting disparate elements and challenging norms. This drive for cultural and market disruption guided him into the consumer goods industry through the wine and spirits industry.
