Advanced Practice Provider Pharmacology Update
Program Overview
This comprehensive pharmacology update is designed for Advanced Practice Providers--Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs)--seeking to enhance prescribing knowledge and remain current with evolving pharmacotherapeutic practices.
The program integrates evidence‑based updates, clinical guidelines, and practical case examples to support safe, effective, and patient‑centered medication management across diverse practice settings. Emphasis is placed on optimizing therapeutic decision‑making, minimizing medication‑related risk, and improving patient outcomes.
Course Objectives
At the completion of the course, the participant will be prepared to:
- Evaluate current and emerging pharmacologic therapies relevant to NP and PA clinical practice.
- Apply evidence‑based prescribing principles to optimize medication selection, dosing and monitoring.
- Identify, prevent and manage medication‑related risks, including adverse drug events and clinically significant drug–drug interactions.
- Incorporate patient‑specific factors, such as comorbid conditions, organ function and polypharmacy into safe and effective pharmacologic decision‑making.
