VILLANOVA UNIVERSITY
SUSTAINABILITY

OUR AUGUSTINIAN CATHOLIC MISSION IN ACTION

As a Catholic and Augustinian university, Villanova recognizes that all creation is sacred. We seek to foster both responsible stewardship of the environment and the flourishing of all human beings. Our approach to sustainability is grounded in our Augustinian values of Veritas, Unitas and Caritas and is guided by the principles of Catholic social teaching. Our tradition calls us to put community before self and to work tirelessly for the common good. In turn, we seek to establish an ethos of sustainable living in every aspect of campus life.

SUPPORTING OUR PLANET

At Villanova, we believe that the responsibility to foster the health and prosperity of God’s creation lies with each and every one of us. The Villanova Sustainability Leadership Council is a group of faculty, staff and students that helps coordinate, advance and track Villanova’s sustainable practices and policies across campus. The council comprises five committees to address sustainability.
