Congratulations to the Nova Knicks
Congratulations to the Nova Knicks—Villanovans Jalen Brunson ’18 College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS), Mikal Bridges ’18 CLAS and Josh Hart ’17 CLAS—for helping lead the New York Knicks to the 2026 NBA Championship. It was the Knicks’ first NBA title in 53 years.
12 Villanovans Awarded Prestigious Fulbright US Student Grants for 2026-27
12 Villanova University students and alumni have been selected to receive Fulbright U.S. Student Grants for the 2026–27 academic year. In addition, 9 Villanovans were named alternates and 42 were recognized as semifinalists. Two students also earned the highly competitive Fulbright English Teaching Flagship Award to Taiwan, highlighting Villanova’s global reach and commitment to fostering cross-cultural understanding through education.
Villanova University and its Office for Sustainability will host the 2026 International Sustainability Conference entitled Responding to the Cries of the Earth and the Poor, from October 12–16, 2026, in Rome, Italy. The Conference will bring together academics, researchers, Church representatives, foundations, and public and private sector leaders in a transdisciplinary forum designed to move from dialogue to concrete, collaborative action.
Latin American Studies Professor Receives Fulbright U.S. Scholar Award
Raúl Diego Rivera Hernández, PhD, director of the Latin American Studies program and associate professor in the Department of Spanish at Villanova University, has been awarded a prestigious 2026-2027 Fulbright U.S. Scholar grant by the U.S. Department of State and the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board.
Villanova University Cabrini Campus Opening in 2026
Villanova University’s new 112-acre Cabrini Campus will open in August 2026, providing the opportunity for the University to enhance its programs and commitment to advancing Catholic higher education. This addition will support all aspects of campus life, providing a space that nurtures a true living and learning experience in Villanova’s Augustinian Catholic tradition.
